Your information on Equiva — for 16 and 17-year-olds
We are finalising this page. It will be reviewed by our legal adviser.
This page is in English. If you need help understanding it or want it in another format, contact privacy@equiva.io.
Who we are. Equiva is an app that helps you learn and get ready for work. It is run by Equiva Ltd. Your college or programme decides most things about how your information is used. We run the app for them.
What we keep. Your name and email, what you do in lessons, your answers (spoken or typed), chats with Eva, and anything you upload.
Support needs. The app may notice that something could be harder for you, such as reading long text. A trained person looks at this. It is not a diagnosis, and you will not be given a label. If they think support could help, someone will talk to you about it.
Your adjustments profile. You can write down what helps you learn or work. It is yours. You choose who sees it, and you can stop sharing at any time. Saying no will not change your place or your support.
AI. Eva and other AI tools help you, but people make the decisions that matter. AI companies we use are not allowed to use your information to train their AI [to be confirmed].
Your voice. When you speak, we turn it into text. We do not use your voice to work out who you are.
Who sees your information. Your tutors and the staff who support you. Employers only see what you choose to share. We never sell your information.
How long we keep it. Only as long as we need it. Some things are deleted after 90 days, some after 12 months. The full privacy notice has the details.
Your rights. You can ask to see your information, fix it, delete it, or stop us using it. Ask your tutor or email privacy@equiva.io.
Not happy? Tell us at privacy@equiva.io. We will reply within 30 days. You can also contact the ICO, which checks that organisations use information fairly: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
Worried about your safety? If we think you or someone else could be at risk, we may need to tell a safeguarding lead, even if you would prefer we did not. We will try to talk to you first.
You don’t need a parent’s permission to use Equiva, but you can always ask a trusted adult to help you.
